Golden-brown Pioneer Woman cheeseburger pie with melted cheddar.

This Pioneer Woman cheeseburger pie is a delicious and easy-to-make comfort food classic, featuring savory ground beef, melted cheese, and a golden biscuit-like crust. Perfect for weeknight dinners, this recipe is a family favorite that combines all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger into a warm, baked dish.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup Bisquick mix (or substitute with flour & baking powder)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Cook the beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add diced onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture into the greased pie dish and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  5. Whisk together Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs in a bowl until smooth. Pour over the beef mixture.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a low-carb version, skip the Bisquick and use almond flour or a crustless option.
  • To add extra flavor, top with pickles, mustard, ketchup, or a dollop of sour cream.
  • Make it ahead by assembling the pie and refrigerating it up to 24 hours before baking.
